Senjutsu (仙術; Literally meaning "Sage Techniques") refers to a specialized field of techniques that allows the user to sense and then gather the natural energy (自然エネルギー, shizen enerugī) around a person.
Senjutsu practitioners learn to draw the energy of nature inside of them, blending it with their own chakra (created from spiritual and physical energy within the shinobi). This adds a new dimension of power to the sage's chakra, resulting in the creation of "senjutsu chakra" (仙術チャクラ, senjutsu chakura). This chakra cannot be seen by anyone other than those who have been trained in senjutsu. This new chakra enables the user to enter an empowered state called Sage Mode, which can then drastically increase the strength of all ninjutsu, genjutsu, and taijutsu. A person who is able to use senjutsu is called a sage (仙人, sennin).

To activate the mode, the user must spend an entire post gathering chakra, meaning no defensive or offensive maneuvers can be made in this time. After their time is up, the user will experience intense exhaustion.

They also gain some parts of the anatomy of a worm, such as slick skin, a very pale complexion, and a wide and large jaw that lets them consume much larger targets, over time. The users teeth turn sharp and jagged, and they gain purple coloration around their eyes. The users of this Sennin Moodo also have slightly enhanced regenerative powers, able to close small wounds over a post period, they can also tap into their nature chakra and sense chakra around them.

The user's eye's transform into cat eyes and they get whiskers on their cheeks. Their teeth grow extremely longer and sharp, also their bite force dramatically increases. Next they get a tall that can be used to hold and throw weapons.

The size and strength of these torii is such that they can even be used to immobilize a tailed beast. These torii are quite versatile and can be used in several different ways, such as being piled atop one another in an attempt to increase their ability to immobilize the target.

This alone greatly hinders those in the vicinity but, due to the intensity of the resulting vibrations, paralyzing pain is also induced. Thus, the technique both briefly inhibits the opponent's senses, as well as techniques that require their active concentration. People in Snake type Sennin Moodo are completely unaffected by the jutsu.

If the user stays in this state for too long, they will turn completely feral and savage and will not be able to return to normal life style as they once were.
