Manami is a person who wishes to travel the world. She became a ninja because for the longest time she was too weak to travel from the ninja village she lived in Tsuchi no Chihou. Sadly, this kind of job does not give her the ability travel where she wishes as she must follow her Kage's orders and complete the assignments given. The woman takes this with a grain of salt though because her valuable assets offered as a ninja give her a life she would otherwise not have. Her ability to use Meiton, while taxing, is rarity among even her own clan, the Hiseki, who seem to lean more towards the usage of doujutsu called the Ongengan. This results in her frequently assigned more missions but also increases her overall stress in situations. Frankly, she feels the Kage should have never done this to her but her ability to change his mind is something she has been unable to do. His words as Kage after all were rather proud yet have put her home on the map as a place that cherishes secret abilities but keeps them within the family fold.
She would not have it any other way due to the fact that without her father’s guiding hands she knew she would have been a freak of nature; more so than she is now. The reason being she has yet to grow into her abilities fully yet uses them with enough wariness to warrant her position as a Chunin. Nobody she has not wanted to hurt ended up hurt by her carelessness; although, her mother also had a hand in training by being the primary human guinea pig for her developing skills. This wariness, however, is fortunate since she feels control is of the utmost importance to a ninja after reading what little she could about shinobi skills. She is not a very intelligent person but she understands that a ninja’s ability to trick as well as dazzle the normal person with fantastic skills have caused them to become rather popular. At times she thinks of herself kind of a like a magician but knows that the two things are quite different. Ninjas are killers no matter what others say and for that reason she follows in her family’s footsteps.

Manami, standing five feet, five inches is a woman who is slightly taller than her female peers are. Due to participating primarily in non-physical activities as a child, Manami is someone who will never be extremely muscular without hard work. Instead, she possesses a rather lean and limber physique with just enough body fat to identify her as a woman in any outfit she wears. She inherited her father's pale white skin and her mother's long purple hair but the dark green eyes she has is something neither of them share.
When off duty Manami always wears a white headband and likes to wear a yellow, short-sleeve shirt with tan cargo pants as well as brown and white sneakers with white socks. On occasion, she may change this outfit and choose to wear an orange tank top with denim blue jeans with her shoes. This is in order to help detract from her hair.
While she is on a mission always wears a white hi-ate or headband on her forehead just above her purple bangs. Over top of her torso, she wears a reddish brown tunic with crisscrossing laced straps over her chest that goes all the way down to her hips. She also wears gold and black kimono-styled sleeves and pink and black shinobi sandals that reach all the way up to her thighs. Both of these conceal Metal Arm Guards and Metal Shin Guards even though the purpose of these items is for defense. Finally, she carries around her neck a tan messenger that holds all her supplies and rests against her left hip.

Before Manami came into existence her father Nobu Hiseki was a member of the Hiseki Clan. He still says they are, but due to the rules of the clan he isolated his family after getting married thus becoming a new group within the clan. Life was pretty simple for him before he he met Manami's mother Kasumi in Mizu no Chihou his only requirement to stay in the clan was to practice a trait that clan marked as their own and then pass it on as previous generations had in order to separate and isolate themselves from the rest of the world. His training, in this method, lasted fifteen years until one day instead of using the Ongengan like his follow brothers and sisters he used something entirely different on a sparring partner. The technique he wanted to use was simply one that would knock this person off their feet but instead incinerated them in a burst of flames.
There was no way he could formulate an alibi for this kind of action that anyone was willing to believe so the clan exiled him. He traveled around for many years in anguish honing his skills and figuring out how he could control this technique again until one day he realized that it was his hate for his former way of life that made him kill that day. With this in mind, he became a violent Nukenin who learned to use his new Meiton skill to the fullest extent. It taxed him greatly of energy every time he did so but made him realize that the Hiseki had not yet gone far enough with their plans to isolate other parts of the empire from each other. If they really wanted to return to the past they needed to do so with a clear show of force. Therefore, he walked into the nearest village he could find in Mizu no Chihou and killed its inhabitants save one. This person was Kasumi's mother she fought back against him to defend herself and put up a rather good fight by nearly electrocuting him more then once with her Ranton blood limit. Unfortunately, it was a battle of attrition and because Nobu had such a high amount of energy in his heyday he literally absorbed everything she threw at him.
After knocking Kasumi unconscious he hefted her onto his shoulder and decided that instead of killing her he would take her back home with him and use her as a ticket to re-enter into his clan. The people who came to greet him when he returned home were unhappy to see him. They expected he would have learned his lesson about killing people without due reason and decided to try and kill him now. He shouted, "The old system was always about war and making sure one nation stands above the rest! Me having this strange, dark ability of mine is nothing more then a sign that the world will always have different people." Then he proceeded to escape from their feeble attempt to end his life by running right out the front door he had entered through.
He was lucky to escape with his life, however, still had Kasumi as a prisoner to deal with. He tied her up tightly and then interrogated her learning everything he could about her ability to use lightning in the advanced ways she did. Then she made him a promise after he accidentally let too much information about himself slip, "If you untie me I will make sure your desire to promote difference in this world is fulfilled." He did and she led him back to the Magattasuki clan in Mizu no Chihou where he let his passion to be different control him. This led to the birth of his daughter Manami and five years later he remained under constant pressure to continue killing other shinobi for the sake of making the world's strongest, unique ninja. When Manami turned six he realized he could not let her see the darker side of this clan and set out to run away again. This time Kasumi willingly came with him due to feeling the same and together the two managed to thwart the surveillance of the clan. They hid at a small, riverside port deep inside a place called the Region of Rivers before making their way to the ninja village that Manami and her family now stay in. Although her parents can never speak of the Magattatsuki clan they know it is not a good group in their hearts and did their best over the next three years to turn Manami into a good child.
Manami though was born weak never managed to make it to any sort of school until she was nine. She lacked valuable reading skills and by the time she could make to any educational establishment they immediately pushed her to go to the local ninja academy instead. This helped strengthen her a little but never really enough to compete with the other children so she had to rely heavily on her parents for the next four years and the help of her teachers to get her through ninja school. Most of the kids remained aloof around her and constantly wondered who she managed to pull through when she barely managed the regular ninjutsu skills taught to everyone that they could use with ease. At this time she was thirteen and growing into her teen years she hoped to find a boyfriend but found that no guy wanted her around because she was too weak to stand on her own at times. This knee jerk reaction made her work really hard and by the time the Chunin exams came around when she was fourteen she managed to fail badly due to not really knowing anything about the teammates she was assigned to for her original shinobi team.
Winning at anything just seemed to not be in her favor. It was only after two more of these exams that she actually managed to pass and impress the current Kage who made her a Chunin. She did this by expressing the dangers of being a shinobi and after doing so has yet to form her own team. Although she has made amends to her father's clan on her family's behalf, they now expect her to make use of his skills that have been passed down to her.

After knocking Kasumi unconscious he hefted her onto his shoulder and decided that instead of killing her he would take her back home with him and use her as a ticket to re-enter into his clan. The people who came to greet him when he returned home were unhappy to see him. They expected he would have learned his lesson about killing people without due reason and decided to try and kill him now. He shouted, "The old system was always about war and making sure one nation stands above the rest! Me having this strange, dark ability of mine is nothing more then a sign that the world will always have different people." Then he proceeded to escape from their feeble attempt to end his life by running right out the front door he had entered through.
He was lucky to escape with his life, however, still had Kasumi as a prisoner to deal with. He tied her up tightly and then interrogated her learning everything he could about her ability to use lightning in the advanced ways she did. Then she made him a promise after he accidentally let too much information about himself slip, "If you untie me I will make sure your desire to promote difference in this world is fulfilled." He did and she led him back to the Magattasuki clan in Mizu no Chihou where he let his passion to be different control him. This led to the birth of his daughter Manami and five years later he remained under constant pressure to continue killing other shinobi for the sake of making the world's strongest, unique ninja. When Manami turned six he realized he could not let her see the darker side of this clan and set out to run away again. This time Kasumi willingly came with him due to feeling the same and together the two managed to thwart the surveillance of the clan. They hid at a small, riverside port deep inside a place called the Region of Rivers before making their way to the ninja village that Manami and her family now stay in. Although her parents can never speak of the Magattatsuki clan they know it is not a good group in their hearts and did their best over the next three years to turn Manami into a good child.
Manami though was born weak never managed to make it to any sort of school until she was nine. She lacked valuable reading skills and by the time she could make to any educational establishment they immediately pushed her to go to the local ninja academy instead. This helped strengthen her a little but never really enough to compete with the other children so she had to rely heavily on her parents for the next four years and the help of her teachers to get her through ninja school. Most of the kids remained aloof around her and constantly wondered who she managed to pull through when she barely managed the regular ninjutsu skills taught to everyone that they could use with ease. At this time she was thirteen and growing into her teen years she hoped to find a boyfriend but found that no guy wanted her around because she was too weak to stand on her own at times. This knee jerk reaction made her work really hard and by the time the Chunin exams came around when she was fourteen she managed to fail badly due to not really knowing anything about the teammates she was assigned to for her original shinobi team.
Winning at anything just seemed to not be in her favor. It was only after two more of these exams that she actually managed to pass and impress the current Kage who made her a Chunin. She did this by expressing the dangers of being a shinobi and after doing so has yet to form her own team. Although she has made amends to her father's clan on her family's behalf, they now expect her to make use of his skills that have been passed down to her.
